COPO’s pantry services ensure no one is left behind — serving thousands across NYC with warmth, respect, and halal-certified support.
COPO’s Emergency Food Assistance Program was created in response to the urgent needs of underserved, immigrant, and Muslim communities in Brooklyn — especially during times of crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic and rising food insecurity.
With a commitment to halal, culturally appropriate food, COPO has distributed over 5 million pounds of food to date and continues to serve thousands of families through weekly and emergency initiatives.
Every Friday — rain or shine — we serve Brooklyn with warmth and dignity
COPO’s food program serves families throughout Brooklyn and as far as Queens, Staten Island, and Manhattan — filling a vital gap in food equity and access.
COPO operates a “client choice” Food Pantry that distributes over 360,000 pounds of food per year to low-income households who come to us from throughout New York City. As one of only three food pantries citywide that guarantees compliance with Islamic dietary guidelines, our program fills a distinct need and serves families from across Brooklyn and as far away as Staten Island, Queens, and Manhattan.
COPO’s HMOW program doesn’t just feed — it uplifts. Every meal is a gesture of community, tailored to honor both faith and need.
COPO proudly operates the only registered Halal Meals-on-Wheels (HMOW) program in New York City.
This service delivers nutritious, halal-certified meals twice a week to low-income Muslim Older Adults (60+) living in Brooklyn.
More than a meal, this program offers:

We focus not just on food security, but nutrition dignity — ensuring every family has access to fresh produce and culturally appropriate options delivered with respect and care.
Mobile access means no one is left behind — whether they live far, lack transportation, or need flexible access to halal food.
